Ad Operations Manager

We are now looking for a Ad Operations Manager (US) to join our Team.

About the role

The Ad Operations Manager, will be responsible for the set-up, optimization, performance and general stewardship of advertising campaigns served across Vibrant’s network of partner publishers and open marketplace inventory from the global bid stream. The Ad Operations Manager will also oversee the accurate tracking of data related to campaign delivery and will be responsible for timely and effective communication both to internal parties and to clients.

The Ad Operations Manager will report to the SVP of Sales & Operations and require close interaction with multiple teams across the business including Sales, Business Development, Tech, Product and Finance.

Recent privacy legislation in the US and Europe, along with pro privacy changes in the way browsers accept third party cookies are changing the way marketers can reach their audiences online. Advanced contextual targeting, data and insights will be essential for brands to thrive in a post cookie world.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Supervision of the day-to-day functions of Traffic, Account and Inventory Management for the US Ad network, which includes overseeing all aspects of campaign set-up, management and optimization.
  • Ensure a consistently high standard of campaign quality, daily monitoring of creative, ad-copy and contextual targeting criteria.
  • Maintain and further develop the process for creation and setup of custom advanced contextual semantic maps.
  • Work closely with the Technology and QA teams to facilitate the development and troubleshooting of all tools and reports required for the effective execution of the diverse range of Ad Ops functions.
  • Working with the SVP of Sales & Operations to provide regular reports on US campaign performance, revenue delivery, forecasting and emerging opportunities to the Executive team.
  • Work with the Finance Department to reconcile monthly campaign delivery data with client billing statements.
  • Liaise with Product Development to ensure smooth roll-out of new advertising products and appropriate integration into existing processes and systems, including the provision of training where appropriate.
  • Work with the European Ad Operations teams to develop global best-practices.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Minimum 3 years business experience in an ad operations or account management position dealing with all aspects on online campaign trafficking, management, reporting and analysis.
  • Experience with contextual or keyword-based delivery models a definite plus.
  • Exceptional detail orientation, strong analytical skills and then ability to interpret complex datasets for performance insights and inventory trends.
  • Expert knowledge of Excel and proficiency in the full range of available rich media ad-formats, tags and ad serving technologies, as well as current and emerging industry trends related to DSPs, SSPs, Ad Exchanges and DMPs.
  • Hands-on experience of workflow management and/or CRM software such as Sales Force or Microsoft Dynamics, preferably in an administrative capacity.
  • Superb interpersonal and communication skills; as comfortable speaking to external technical contacts as to internal sales managers, and able to easily navigate between diverse teams in multiple geographic locations.
  • The ability to thrive in a high-pressure sales environment and relish the challenges inherent in a fast paced, rapidly growing business.
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • A willingness to travel periodically between offices in US (quarterly) and Europe (yearly).

Database Administrator / Developer

We are now looking for a Database Administrator / Developer (UK) to join our Team. Although the team is currently fully remote, the ideal candidate will be within reasonable travel distance of London, as it is planned for the team to meet up frequently in person, and eventually maybe several times a week.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Business Engineering, you will be helping to develop and maintain the core data infrastructure.  You will be interacting with both technical and commercial staff helping to understand requirements and develop ideas. Working as part of a small team, you will be responsible for proactive monitoring of servers, providing analysis, and recommendation with regard to design, technology and hardware. You will primarily have responsibilities relating to our MS SQL server platform but will be expected to be familiar and hands on with a wide selection of current and emerging SQL and NoSQL database technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Close monitoring of all production SQL Servers across all data-centres.
  • Support the development and management of the data warehouse. The data warehouse will be comprised of data from Microsoft SQL server databases, MySQL, AWS Redshift, and other sources.
  • Design and build ETL routines
  • Maintain and monitor the company backup strategy
  • Identify and propose improvements to database design and technology to improve throughput, query -ability and latency. 
  • To pro-actively deliver project work to improve the data infrastructure or add functionality as required
  • The position also requires a substantial amount of project development work, which as the need arises, is essential to be delivered to the business on time and to specification.
  • To respond to support tickets in a timely fashion.
  • To provide out-of-hours support (once fully trained).
Knowledge, skills and experience

The successful candidate will have 3+ years of production and development DBA experience in a high transactional and multi-server environment with a willingness to embrace new technologies.  They will be working on the data infrastructure that support the IntelliTXT advertising platform which serves billions of pages to over 120 million unique users a month, and the Quintesse advertising platform which serves millions of contextual signals to DSPs and Exchanges per day. These are large and complex platforms which provide many interesting technical challenges.  Our engineers are actively encouraged to propose new ideas and work with relevant departments across the company to deliver projects.

We are now looking for an experienced JavaScript Developer to join our Team. Although the team is currently fully remote, the ideal candidate will be within reasonable travel distance of London, as it is planned for the team to meet up frequently in person, and eventually maybe several times a week.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced JavaScript developer to join our ad server team. This team is responsible for everything from page scraping, to content classification, choosing the best advert, and creative delivery and tracking.

This role focuses on engineering (client and backend side), not UI development.

It will involve developing, maintaining and debugging JavaScript elements that comprise the ads that we deliver, integrating with various network services, and implementing new front end interfaces.

One day you might be working on low level DOM manipulation or Node.js code aimed at getting our ads onto a page as quickly as possible, the next might be diagnosing a complicated issue on a partner’s site that will use all your years of experience to fix.

Key responsibilities
  • Client-side development using JavaScript (vanilla) and React
  • Node.js microservice development
  • Debugging (investigation into client and server-side bugs, as well as integration issues)
  • Code optimization (pro-active approach to identifying and optimising existing code)
  • Code review (appraise and advise on other engineers’ code)
Knowledge, skills and experience

The successful candidate will have to be a self-starter, who can confidently take ownership of existing systems and codebases, as well as proactively identify and fix issues as they are discovered.

Accuracy and attention to detail are essential requirements, as are excellent interpersonal skills.
